Permissions & Third-Party Services
Choose a photo: the Apple system photo picker gives VeriPic only the image you select; the app does not request full photo-library access. Sharing an image from another app gives access only to the shared content. No camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar or tracking permission is requested.
Save to Photos: add-only photo permission is requested when you choose to save a report card. It allows adding images, not browsing your library. If declined, analysis and the system share sheet remain available. You can change this permission in iOS Settings for VeriPic.
Cloud Deep Scan: this is a separate in-app consent, not a system Photos permission. Cloudflare hosts the proxy, cached results and purchase ledger; Hive receives the resized photo for detection. Requests include pseudonymous identifiers and an image fingerprint. You can withdraw consent in Settings; on-device analysis remains available. Contributing reduced photos and detector scores for model improvement requires a separate, optional choice.
Apple provides StoreKit payments, optional iCloud Keychain account-code sync, the system photo picker and share sheet. History is not synced through an app-managed cloud library. A destination you choose in the share sheet handles exported files under its own rules.
Offline Mode blocks cloud scanning and balance refresh. StoreKit product requests, purchases, restoration and retries of unfinished purchases can still use the network to fulfil transactions. Photo-upload permission does not control these payment operations. See the linked provider policies for their own processing practices.
